Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress is well-known for her role in the movie Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, writer and American actress active in theatre in film, television, and theatre. Her acting career started in the theater. Then she appeared on several television shows, independent films and mainstream film. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw, a character who appeared on ABC's Quantico. On BET's massive series The Book of Negroes she played the role of Ariel. Not only did she receive critical acclaim for her role but did she also win a couple of awards and nominations. In 1995, she appeared in her first performance with The Tempest as Ariel. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film career is highlighted through her performances on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. In her television work, she's received praise for her performance as a regular character on ABC's cop drama High Incident.
